What is Excel?. It is a presentation program. It was released in 1987 initially for Macintosh computers only. It is a word processing software developed by Microsoft. It is a spreadsheet program. It is a good program to store, organize, and analyze data.

Excel program is often used for: Writing letters. Creating tables. Creating resumé.

What's a cell in Excel?. They are lines that you can create as a shape. It is the intersection of a column and row. It is an Excel file that contains one or more worksheets.

What's a "worksheet tab"?. This is an Excel file that contains one or more worksheets. These are the different documents nested within a Workbook. These are the tabs at the bottom left of the spreadsheet.

What's "Column and row headings"?. These are the numbered and lettered cells located just outside of the columns and rows. Selecting a header highlights the entire row or column. They are mathematical equations, cell references or functions that can be placed inside a cell to produce a value. They must start with an equal "=" sign. This is the set of coordinates where a cell is located. One of them is horizontal and numbered whereas the other is vertical and assigned a letter.
