Why is junk food so appealing? Because there are a lot of it in the supermarket and I prefer to buy and eat it with my family and friends. Because it tastes so good, but there is a scientific explanation for why we want to have more of it. Our brain encourages us to seek experiences that we find pleasurable, including eating tasty food. This encouragement from our brain is known as the ‘reward’ system.
