What is air starter?. Air starters are low pressure/high volume air source (aprox. 40 psi) much like the turbine section of an engine. Electrical motor used to start the engine.

Starter/generators use what type of winding. High torque for starter is provided by series winding and parallel shunt for generating. Parallel winding only.

What type of shafts is used in torquemeter?. Torque & refernce shafts (torsion shaft). Only torque shaft.

What affects thermal efficiency?. TIT & compression ratio. Fuel type only.

What are the 2 types of fuel nozzles. Simplex & duplex. Single & multi-hole.

Where is water injected on a turbine engine?. Inlet compressor and/or the diffuser section before the combustion chamber. The combustion is better suited with axial flow compressors. Only at the turbine section.

What percent of air is used by the gas generator. 25-35% is used. 65-75% of the air is used for cooling. 50% for gas generator, 50% for cooling.

What do you do with a cracked turbine blade?. Disgard it. This is an indication of stress ruptures from over temp. Reuse if only slightly bent.

An exhaust nozzle is what type of duct. Convergent exhaust ducts are used with subsonic engines. Divergent duct only.
